Advocacy

Emma aspires to connect with organizations focused on female empowerment, the outdoors and mental health. In summer 2025, she will be volunteering with Big Sky Youth Empowerment, a Bozeman adventure-based group mentoring program, helping with outdoor skills workshops among other things. She will also be a featured speaker at Thrive’s “Girls’ Stories, Girls’ Voices” summer camp for middle school aged girls. She would love to expand her role as a motivational speaker, sharing her message that girls can do anything they set their minds to and expanding the bounds of what girls think is possible. In the fall, she will be leveraging her experience in mountaineering and her interest in motivational psychology to work on a capstone research project entitled “The Psychology of Fear and Risk-taking in Extreme Sports”. Emma will also be featured in the AWE Summit Scholarship Foundation’s 2026 calendar on female mountaineers, which helps fund mountaineering stipends to women to break down the barriers to entry to the big mountain realm.
